Contract or fixed-term labor contracts have increased as much as three-fold since 1995. While our permanent job placement statistics
follow the national employment numbers, the contingent marketplace continues to flourish.
It requires little research to understand why. First, employers can increase their ability to reduce or expand their workforce in order to match rapidly changing market conditions
and the staffing demands of internal projects.
These “just-in-time” or contingent workers not only satisfy unplanned circumstances, but
provide a “contract-to-hire” opportunity for both the employer and the contract employee.
